On the First Tuesday: Survivor Shares Story of Faith and Healing

by PVUMC | Jan 23, 2015 | ArchivesCommunity EventUncategorized | 0 comments

Heather Knies and her husband, Joe, joined PVUMC in 2012. They have been active in ministry at PVUMC, serving on ministry teams, participating in Change the World Day, and raising their young daughter in the church. In short, they are God’s love in Action. What makes Heather’s story remarkable is that she survived a cancer diagnosis and has been bringing hope to others with similar diagnoses, through her testimony and life.

Heather was interviewed by AZ Family in November 2014, following 29-year-old cancer patient Brittany Maynard’s decision to “die with dignity” in Oregon. Heather’s story is different, and gives hope to others. She commented, “What I had was a glioblastoma multiforme Stage 4, as well. Yes, it is rare to beat it, but I am living proof it can be done and I’m not the only one who has survived the most deadly of diseases. The mind is a powerful thing and I chose to let God decide when it was my time and I thank Him everyday for my survival.”

Come hear Heather tell her story at On the First Tuesday, February 3. She will speak about how “Miracles Happen to Those Who Believe.” Join us for a home-cooked meal at 5:30 pm, and stay for Heather’s talk and Q&A at 6:15 pm.
